Werewolf verses Lycan
Depending on Lore, there are either 3 to 4 forms. Most lore holds only 3: Human Wolf (quadrapedal) or Lycan (bipedal) forms. Very few have a fourth form which is the werewolf adaptation.
Human form is simply that, the form in which is easily blend into society, most Lycans call this the sheep-skin form. Wolf form is once again simply that, an actual wolf form. Where as the later is Lycan form, It is a large humaniod form that has many features of the wolf, like muzzle ears, tail claws, even the legs are shaped much like the wolfs.
The Lycan form is considered the most powerful form and is usually anywhere between 7 feet and up but usually no larger than 9 foot. unless a Dire form. ((pretty much a larger breed, and are extremely rare))
Then finally there is the fourth form for the lores that hold it. It is called the were form. This form is nearly completely human, with the exceptions that it tends to have hairy features, fangs, and claws. But mostly keeps a human form.
The concept between each changes from person to person, but these are the logistics that have are solid for the most part, with of course the exceptions of the adaptations and unique abilities per character.

Silver and wolfbane is thier weakness but it takes a lot of it to kill them

Can not control thier shift

Can only shift into a human form and a Lycan form. no Wolf form

Unless the Lycan possess the Mythical ability to purge themselves of it, the only way to ride them of silver poisoning is by draining tainted blood.

Allergic to wolfbane

Wolfbane is the only substance (other than drugs of course) that could cause a Lycan to loose control over themselves and make them extremely sick could cause death.
